Between the time change (unless you’re in Arizona or Hawaii, in which case we’re jealous) and the early evenings of Winter, we could use a little something to light up the night! This stunning 2014 Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Vintage is just starting to show off the fine, toasty hints of age and the racy freshness. Of course, this marks the calling card of its Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru pedigree. Don’t just take it from us (we’ve bought plenty for personal enjoyment); this bottling took Gold at the Drinks Business Champagne Maters 2022; is honored with a Gold medal in the 2023 Le Guide Hachette des Vins; and enjoyed a veritable parade of glowing reviews to further enhance its already luminous presence. This Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2014 is the perfect pairing for every winter’s eve feast. From sourcing out fresh oysters to baking gougeres, or pondering a braised beef ravioli in shimmering sager butter, you’ll want to have plenty on hand for every toast!
“After 6 years of rest on the lees, he seduces by the complexity of its mineral expression. Additionally, experience lemony, smoky, grilled, spicy, and mint, which reveals ventilation all its nuances. Combining wealth and great vivacity, it benefits from a final mineral and fresh, on the candied citrus.” Gold Medal Awareded, Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2023 – Alexis Goujard, Hachette des Vin

Critics’ Reviews:
Wine Advocate 94. “ Delamotte’s just-released 2014 Blanc de Blancs has turned out very well indeed, opening in the glass with scents of citrus zest, crisp orchard fruit, fresh bread, and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and incisive, with excellent depth at the core, racy acids, and a chalky finish. This isn’t as muscular as the 2008 or 2012, but it has real cut and persistence. Likewise, should age very gracefully indeed.”
Decanter 94. “ Offering up an elegant yet bright bouquet, this 2014 Delamotte Blanc de Blancs opens in the glass with orchard fruits, verbena, lemon zest, pastry, and slightly reductive aromas. Chiseled and perfectly balanced, the palate is lively and intense and clearly expresses the fruit and the straightforward nature of the 2014 vintage. Should age well for a decade or so.”
James Suckling 94. “ Really bright and energetic, with sliced apples and lemons and seashells on the nose. Some flint, too. Full-bodied, yet very tight and composed, with racy phenolics and bright acidity. Very long and vivid. Sort of edgy and energetic. Bright blanc de blancs. Drink now.”
Wine Enthusiast 93. “ From the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger on the Côte des Blancs, this well-textured Champagne shows a crisp apple freshness underlined by strong minerality. At seven years past vintage, the wine is just starting to lose its initial freshness and develop attractive toasty elements.”
Wine Spectator 92. “ A finely-meshed, linear Champagne, with racy acidity and a citrusy overtone driving flavors of poached apricot, biscuit, candied lemon peel, and a toasty hint of brioche. Fine and creamy. Drink now through 2026.”
